Advantages of Steel Buildings

Prefabricated steel buildings hold many advantages over traditional buildings. Many potential customers will ask us to list these advantages so I have decided to create an entry about the subject. Here are the top five advantages that pre-fab buildings have.

  1. Speed.

Prefabricated steel buildings can be designed, customized, approved by local building authorities, delivered and erected in a matter of weeks.

  1. Cost Savings

Prefabricated steel buildings, even ones that have been customized to suit hybrid materials such as wood, concrete, glass, or brick, can result in significant cost savings in many aspects, from materials to delivery to erection.

  1. Low Maintenance

Choose high quality flake resistant and fade resistant colour finishes and you have a building that is as close to zero maintenance as you can get.

  1. Easily insulated

High quality, low cost insulation is available for purchase at any time during or after erection.

  1. Warranties

Choose the right prefabricated steel building company and you will have a great warranty for a quality building. Always ask about warranties before purchasing.

Also building with steel preserves natural resources and creates less waste – all of which is recyclable. To build an average 2,000 square foot home takes an acre of trees (about 40-50 trees), while a steel-framed house can be made with the steel from six recycled cars. Steel is naturally termite proof and because it is galvanized it will not rust. Since it does not have to be treated with pesticides or other chemicals, steel framing contributes to better indoor air quality. And steel framing does not encourage the growth of molds.
